My friend, Kylie O’Brien, warned me that there would be alot of ‘wilderness’ at Chelsea this year. It was certainly a strong theme. The grasses of the last few years have been replaced by meadow flowers, with more than one garden including buttercups in its scheme (Mr Middle-size will have conniptions, he’s always rootling them out of the lawn). Cow parsley, daisies and other plants that look like weeds made it one of the least formal Chelsea Flower Shows.
